Beach and Travel Necessities

Here are the things that I absolutely cannot travel without:

Especially when traveling to a beach destination, a water bottle is a MUST. I adore my prescription sunglasses. Being blind as a bat without glasses, these are the perfect solution to traveling in a sunny place. In addition to looking kind of cool, they serve as back up glasses just in case. I’m a chapstick girl. I usually have a chapstick in every bag I carry, but it is especially important in those sunny areas. The reason sunscreen is not on my list is because I don’t have any travel size bottles, but it is easy enough to buy some once you land.

For the beach and traveling in general, a microfiber towel is a must. I personally like the soft texture, but I know some prefer a rough towel. Texture aside, it is hard to argue when this towel dries so quickly!

SmartWool socks are essential to traveling. If you air them out at night, they can last you a good couple of days and when you wash them, they dry in just a couple of hours.

True, the inflatable neck pillow often deflates and it is hard to get comfortable, but it is better than nothing and takes up so little room that I would never travel without it.

A hat is especially important for those sunny destinations. An umbrella or some sort of rain gear is important. I have to admit that this umbrella in particular is not the best because it is big and bulky, but I have too much of an emotional attachment to it. Next, the sarong has a million uses: beach cover up, dress, scarf, blanket, towel, cover up for going to Thai Buddhist temples, hobo bags, and so on. Finally, this super compactible sleeping bag is small, but does take up a bit of room. Totally worth it in my opinion because you never know what situation you are going to be in!
