Loi Krathong Festival
I’m so grateful to have completely coincidentally 1) been in Thailand and 2) arranged to see my dear friend on the exact day of Loy Krathong, which was last night. It is celebrated on the full moon of the 11th lunar month. You make krathongs out of biodegradable materials, and set them afloat in the water, thus sending away all of your issues and problems, to start anew. Here in the south, we mainly have krathongs, but in the north, it is customary send off lanterns into the night sky. (at Amphoe Muang Nakhon Si Thammarat, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Thailand)
